Righto...I write poetry quite often...think I'll post it here, cuz it speaks the most about me. Some of the poems are older, some are pretty new, but all are about me, my life, and my friends' lives. Some are sad, though, so don't read them if you've got either a weak conscience or cry easily. ;>.>

These are my older poems...kinda sucky...the long ones are easier reading than they look and they're kinda mushy...
Sometimes Sometimes I wish That I could be free That that girl you’re always with Could somehow be me. Sometimes I hope That someday I’ll be held By someone who’s caring And that won’t hit or yell. Sometimes I dream That somehow I will find That one special someone Who will only be mine.
Amber Duffield
Loveless It doesn't really matter But I still think about you Every single day In silent hopes That you will somehow Turn your eyes my way So I continue sitting there In unbearable regret Thinking that, no matter what, I will forever remain loveless.
Amber Duffield
Love Goes On dedicated to Addie She said that she would be okay She said not to worry and just to go away But she couldn't hide the scars for long And we found out anyways. We told her to get help We tried, but nothing changed the way she felt She seemed happy but wished it all away And finally succeeded one painful day People say things to help us move on But the one thing that sticks is 'Love Goes On'
Amber Duffield
Sand Beneath My Feet As I look out my window And see skylines and cars I daydream of sunshine The moon, and the stars I think of the beach And spending days on the lake When, suddenly I realize That I’m not awake I’m back by the water The wind in my hair The waves are beneath me All I do is stand there and stare They seem so chaotic Yet so solemn and neat As I walk by the water The sand beneath my feet
Amber Duffield
Whispers The secrets we keep can be found all around If you talk or converse you won't hear a sound But if silence you keep than all can be heard For the trees, they will speak no more loudly than a Whisper....
Amber Duffield
Love I do not know another love unto this//this feeling running through me, I know not how to explain//In simple terms, it is that of flowers on a beautiful morn//That of the most radiant stars, the most magnificent clouds//my love is like a summer's breeze, a winter's frost//Like the leaves on a sapling//Like the water droplets in a storm//Never ending, ever impartial//My love does not see scars, or open wounds//Only beauty does it see in everyone and everything it meets//Like the branches of a willow//Surrounding, but not touching when close to the source//Like the bark of a redwood//Holding strong against all weather, but gentle to the touch//Like the water of an ocean//stretching further than the eye can see, but always coming back to the shore//My love is not understandable//If it were, it would not be love//But do we not, as humans, try to understand the unexplainable?//do we not try to acquire the unreachable?//Do we not attempt the impossible?//If I were to understand my love, than I would be in great wrong//For love is not to be understood, but indulged in//Not to be conceived, but held close//Not to be acquired, but given//My love, that is so fond of interference, can not be interpreted as a foreign language//Can not be read as a novel is//It can not be tossed about, as if some worthless toy//though, it so often is//No, my love is to be taken as one//Taken as it is and not changed//Given wholly to the one of my choosing and no other//Like the stones in a stream, it is found, but should not be sought for//Like the dew drops in a waterfall, it is numerous, but given sparsely//My love should not be fret over//It should not be fought for//or given as a token or prize//My love should not be stressed to limits, for love has no limits//Nor does it have a given structure//love should not be worked for//it should come easily//as words come easily to a poet, as colors come easily to a painter's eye//Like the pollen in a flower,//love is well spread, but only creates life when spread to flowers with the same likeness//in short, my love is like all other love//not understood and yet sought, not given in whole, but given all the same
Amber Duffield
Untitled To speak thes words would simply not be enough, so i write them down in hopes that they will forever remain my own Forever remain the written memory of the feelings running through me Forever be a reminder of how much you mean to me and how much i truly care You, who loved me though I was different, strange, unique, I love You, who picked me up when i had fallen down, I hold securely in my arms You, who realized my sadness and made me laugh, I entwine myself in, making us one You saw through my smile as if it were transparent glass You saw the sunshine in my rainy depression You held me tightly though my skin felt as ice You looked at me as an angel though I bear no wings, no halo You showered me in flowers though they die at my touch You smiled at me though I had fought you You made me feel loved and loved, i was I realize now, that you, my love, are truly the one Behind the stone wall that is my sadness is my eternal love for you Beneath the rubble of my past is the glowing image of your face Around the debris reflecting my future is the hopeful picture of you and me together Though I refused to express my devotion for so long I hope it is not too late not too overdue to say that my love is still there I want to forever be yours perpetually your flame The ignited light in your eye The cherished radiance in your heart I ache for your arms your protecting wings The pleasant warmth of your touch The vigorous strenth of your enclosure I long for your eyes your admiring perception The swirling pools in your vision The respectful apprehension in your understanding I feel as if I do not act on my love it will diminish and fade I fear that you will not love me as so I thought and leave me standing dumb and motionless I dread the day that I loose you I cringe at the thought of you leaving me here alone and cold But you, my beloved, I have no doubt, will take me as your own Will care for me Will make me feel welcomed Will whisper tender nothings in my ear Will be enamored of me Will accept me as no one has before You, my treasured, my cherished, my love You have given my world a steady axis You have held me up when I wavered You, my love, are the one I look to for support, comfort, peace of mind To express all my feelings in so many words would be an impossible feat But I do so in hopes that these words will reach you and help you realize You will forever have my heart

Most of my newer poems are....dark and creepy....I don't suggest reading them if you're severely creeped by death and destruction. >.>...

Write me now your love song of sorrows, the pain and the happiness that come with tomorrows/Sing to me now in your rythmic da.mnation, let the notes ring through out your light-hearted nation/I am the angel that flows through your days, allowed not in heaven before debts are paid/Sing me asleep now in quiet regret, hush now my child, don't fear and don't fret

I'm just a pretty girl in your faceless mask You asked if I was alright, do you have to ask? I'm not alright, no, I'm not okay This lie I'm living every day I put on a smile, laugh out loud Just blending in to this zombie crowd My insides screaming, crying out When I break down, you can't tell what it's about I'm not alright, no, I'm not fine Walk straight, straight, in this single file line Smile, smile, you know you can do it It's just for tonight, girls, stick to it, stick to it Just for tonight then go home and cry For all anyone cares, you can go home an die No, no, come back tomorrow Dance, dance girls in your sorrow of sorrows You're just another pretty face in this faceless mask of life Just a small bloody needle in a pile of knives
